Kencairn Kenny

When I was 5 years old, my parents who had researched dog breeds and chose the Cairn Terrier, drove to Kencairn Kennel in Pittsburgh to pick up Kencairn Kenny.

Kenny had a wonderful pedigree, and when I was 12, I bought a female, Dorritt of Killybracken. Four litters and two generations later, I showed and finished Championships on two dogs out of a litter of five.
Now, in retirement, I again have pups and dog shows in my life. And best of all, I have contact with the most delightful people who share our love of this little dog. Though small, my breeding program is well researched. I belong to both regional and national Cairn Terrier clubs and show my dogs in conformation nationwide. My pups have had great success also in Earthdog, Rally, Obedience, Agility, and Therapy work.

I have added an English import, Tweedisle Myrtle Berry, to my home and she has given me two beautiful litters. One of her puppies, “Star”, is pictured to the right.

Pinetop Jocasta From Scotch Broom now lives at Tweeedisle Cairns in Berkeley, UK. I showed her at Crufts and the National Terrier shows there last year and in January 2014 she had a litter – one of her babies is shown below.

Tweedisle Bewitching Charm

Here in northeast Ohio I am fortunate to be positioned to get to many more shows than I could before. The weather here encourages active Cairns with great coats and squirrels provide daily cairn entertainment with an acre of lawn and woods.
